The Purpose of Local Student Chapters is a strategic initiative of ASAIO in collaboration with the ASAIOfyi (for young innovators) to assist in the development of the future generation of scientists, engineers, and clinicians. The creation of an ASAIO local student chapter provides 1) Research Advancement & Collaboration, 2) Networking & Career Progression, 3) Outreach & Leadership Development, and 4) Funding & Financial Support. ASAIO local student chapters have the freedom to operate under these general themes and conduct activities such as weekly meetings, journal clubs, professional development workshops, fundraising initiatives, K-12 outreach events, etc.
